  6. I think every/most/many piece(s) with a trace to the loop presence -and with the belt loop- once was a WK1 Mithörer Tasche, where the internal loop originally was to hold the Ruftrompete. Removing the loop and using the Tasche to hold a station clock can be one of the reasons why so many WK1 Mithörern are without the pouch... Here's one of my WK1 sets still holding its original content: Regards: Csaba

  9. Hiya...Had a good visit today to the Falkirk Stadium Car Boot sale...picked up a WW2 1944 Dated German Army 20 Mark note, and a cracking pair of ( what I thought were 60/70's ) Carl Zeiss Jena binos... They are ( after some great info from a mate ) 8x24 Turact with separate focus lens, and according to Carl Zeiss are dated from 1914-1933...... In fantastic condition too.... http://home.europa.com/~telscope/zeissbn2.txt Paid £8 for them...so....VERY happy.... zeissbn2.txt

  11. Thanks for posting Csabe, this is a great example of the the dialler being stored in the "standard" clock/dialler pouch. I am still hoping to see more converted "Zusatzkopfhörer" pouches as well.

  12. Pierre, you are very welcome. This is new field for me too - i only started to study German teleprinters. If you have any German original manuals of teleprinters and their connection devices, i'm very interested to get a copies of the manuals to learn. I'm also searching info on WTK I and WTK II - those are Siemens Wechselstrom Telegrafie für Kurzwellen devices. WTK is a close relative to WT40, but this is different thing, i think WTK was a device where three exact copies of telegraph signal on different frequencies were modulated to the carrier to prevent data loss from fading. Thanks.

  14. While studying the history of the communication it's always nice to take a little break and return to current time and see how far we have come. Here is a nice public report of modern EW (Electronic Warfare) and jamming capabilities. https://www.foi.se/report-search/pdf?fileName=D%3A\ReportSearch\Files\4c547bec-bdfa-4bdb-a1c9-018097aaf615.pdf

  15. @tornfuté, it's teleprinter (Fernschreiber) related. Here you can see the other side of this connector.

  16. Hi All, here's a piece from my collection in almost mint condition from 1933, it came together with a dialer (also from 1933). No sign of the internal loop, nor of a belt loop. Kind regards: Csaba

  17. Hoi Ian, this MP40 has been deacted as per Italian regulation, which are very strict compared to French ones. The important thing here is that this “quasi” is a nearly total matching Nos one and that the pouches are the very same given to the Italian officer with the weapon, which thing makes the lot quite a rare bird per se! As for your Sten magazines I’d suggest you to look at the many online shops, and if you find blued ones don’t be too choosey because these mags were expendable!

  18. Hello Mark, Exactly, all that people want to see are the Picklehaubs, WW1 British, German helmets, and all the WW2 helmets.....shame they don't seem to realise the evolution of the helmet over 100 (in fact probably 1, 000 years) to what the Forces wear today. Some are not interested, maybe because they are so modern, and most of us (including me) like to see the helmets from WW1 onwards...but times will change, but I do as you like to see the modern helmets, as many years ago, they were heavy, uncomfortable, fell over the eyes, sweaty, and not so good at all from bullet or schrapnel fragments...Most soldiers during WW1 died or were killed due to schrapnel wounds from shells rather than bullets to the head. I have a few primers here I am trying to sell, the actual WW1 primers that were screwed into the top of the shell....they weigh 2.2 pounds....and these were primed to explode or detonate about 50 - 100 feet above the oncoming troops, if this weight was to hit your steel helmet in WW1, there would be no chance and I am sure that alone killed many thousands.....Keep up the good work collecting them Mark.....Ian
